Over the past two decades, Doris Hofmeister has distinguished herself through exceptional dedication, international perspective, and a consistently high standard of quality in her work with clients and colleagues at MU. Her resilience, loyalty, and thoughtful client service have made her a trusted partner across borders and a highly valued member of our company.

Doris has always brought an international mindset to her work. Early in her MU career, alongside her consulting role in Austria, she was given the opportunity to help build MU’s competence centre for Central and Eastern Europe and to take on a leadership role as Regional International Business Manager. This experience set the tone for much of what followed: a career shaped by cross-border collaboration, entrepreneurial energy, and a passion for connecting clients with the right expertise across our global network.

Today, Doris is a core member of both the MU Manufacturing and Industry Practice and the MU Board and CEO Services practice. Over the years, she has worked on a wide variety of assignments, combining Executive Search, Leadership Assessment, and Advisory to support clients in building stronger leadership teams. Whether partnering with private equity investors across Europe, supporting market-entry and plant-build projects in APAC, or contributing to strategic client dialogues at board level, Doris has consistently brought depth, credibility, and commitment to everything she does.

Doris is not only an accomplished consultant, but also a colleague who embodies many of the qualities we value most at MU: professionalism, curiosity, kindness, collaboration, and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed. Her ability to work across cultures and build trusted relationships has had a lasting impact on both clients and colleagues. When I look back on the past 20 years at MU, what I feel most strongly is gratitude. MU has given me tremendous opportunities to develop, both professionally and personally. As an entrepreneurial and curious person, I have always valued the fact that MU offers real opportunity without limits. There has always been room to grow, to explore, and to contribute in new ways.

A Shared Culture and Values That Feel Like Home

One of the main reasons I have stayed so long is that MU’s values feel very close to my own. Being kind, team-oriented, and high-performing is not just something we say, it is something you genuinely experience. No matter where in the world you meet MU colleagues, you feel the same spirit and culture. That sense of belonging has always mattered deeply to me.

My true passion has always been working internationally across borders with both colleagues and clients. Very early in my career, I was given the trust and opportunity to help build MU’s competence centre for Central and Eastern Europe while continuing my consultant role in Austria. That experience shaped me. It showed me how much can be achieved when people work together across markets and cultures with a shared commitment to quality.

Throughout the years, my client work has taken me across Europe and beyond. Today, I work especially closely with colleagues in APAC, as many of my clients are investing in that region. What I value most is being able to connect clients with the right local expertise while still offering the consistency and quality of one global firm.

Another important reason I have stayed is MU’s commitment to learning and development. Continuous learning has always been important to me, and MU has supported that in a very tangible way. From the strength of our research institute to ongoing training in Leadership Advisory and support for my development as a certified Business Coach, MU continues to invest in its people. That commitment is one of the reasons why I believe we achieve such strong outcomes for our clients.

Career Highlights Shaped by International Teamwork

When I think about the highlights of my career, many of them come from working with clients on complex international challenges together with MU colleagues around the world. One example is supporting a private equity investor across several portfolio companies in Europe. Together with local expert colleagues, we worked not only on Executive Search assignments, but also on Leadership Assessments to help ensure the right management teams were in place. It has been especially rewarding to see the value of that work reflected in successful exit processes.

Another highlight has been supporting an Austrian-headquartered client with the setup of a plant in Thailand. In close cooperation with colleagues in APAC, we were able to support not only the search for key leaders, but also provide market insight that helped strengthen the client’s understanding of local culture and business ethics. Experiences like that remind me how powerful our global model can be when we work as one team.

I also value the chance to contribute to MU beyond client work. In my role as Partner, I have had the opportunity to take part in internal projects that support the long-term development and sustainable growth of our company. Working closely with our management team in this way has been both inspiring and motivating.

For me, it is the diversity of the role that has made these 20 years so fulfilling. MU is not only the home of leader selection science, but also the home of fantastic and diverse colleagues all over the world. That is what makes this journey so meaningful.
