Henrik Kyst
We are delighted to welcome Henrik Kyst to Mercuri Urval (MU) as Practice Lead in our Automotive & Mobility Practice in the Nordic, alongside expertise in CEO & Board Services and ESG & Sustainability.
Henrik brings more than 20 years of experience as a C-suite leader and board member across the automotive, financial services, and industrial sectors, operating across the Danish market, the Nordic region, and Europe. Throughout his career he has worked with growth, transformation, and organisational development, with a proven ability to deliver results in complex business environments.
“What attracted me most to MU was the alignment between my own beliefs and MU's business model. I have always believed that the right leadership is the single most important driver of business success, and at MU, that belief is the entire business model. Combined with the internatioal reach and the timing, Automotive & Mobility is in the middle of a profound transformation, joining MU felt like a very natural next step” – Henrik Kyst
Before establishing his own consultancy in 2013, Henrik held a series of senior executive roles in the sector. As CEO of Webasto Group Denmark, he transformed the Danish subsidiary into a best practice benchmark within the European group, achieving market leadership and sustained growth in the aftermath of the financial crisis. As Nordic Sales Director at Jaguar Land Rover, he held full commercial responsibility for Scandinavia, delivering double-digit sales growth across all markets. Prior to that, he served as Sales Director at ALD Automotive, where he consistently delivered more than 50% annual growth in both revenue and profit.
"Automotive & Mobility is a sector in fundamental transition, and the leadership challenge is equally complex. Henrik's addition strengthens our ability to advise companies in the sector by combining deep industry knowledge and leadership experience across our global business in leadership development. This is precisely the type of profile we seek to bring into MU."
— Klaus Steinmann, Partner & Global Practice Head for Automotive & Mobility, MU
Since 2013, Henrik has advised C-suite leaders and boards in OEMs, importers, dealer networks, and financial services companies on strategy, transformation, M&A, and organisational development, including the implementation of BI and AI solutions. He has also served as Interim CEO of both DEKRA Bilsyn and SustainLeap and has held a number of board positions as chairman and member.
“I most look forward to bringing my industry experience to bear in a new way, as a trusted advisor helping boards and leadership teams build the capabilities they need for tomorrow. And after many years as an independent consultant, I genuinely look forward to being part of an international network of talented colleagues and collaborating across borders.” – Henrik Kyst
Henrik holds a Diploma in Business Excellence from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and has completed board governance studies at Bestyrelsesakademiet with Plesner and the University of Copenhagen. He is certified in MPA, ACE and EASI, and is a qualified Everything DiSC® Workplace Facilitator.
With Henrik on board, MU strengthens its position within Automotive & Mobility in Denmark and the Nordic region, while adding significant expertise to our CEO & Board Services and ESG & Sustainability practices.
