Atradius is looking for an expert in financial risk analysis who when following the news and other sources of information detects changes in existing economic and trade patterns that might affect certain businesses' economic performance.
As Senior Underwriter Risk Services you become member of the Denmark & Baltics Risk Services Buyer Underwriting team. The team is based in Copenhagen and consists of 10 people. Atradius offers solutions that support growth by improving financial stability, simplifying credit management and reducing credit costs. As Senior Underwriter in Risk Services Buyer Underwriting you will take ownership of an existing portfolio of risks, primarily within construction and you will be chairing an information sharing group known as the ‘Construction Forum’.
Your tasks will include conducting financial analysis at buyer level, applying underwriting principles and procedures when setting the underwriting strategy, and importantly deliver quality decisions in a timely manner. To support your assessment of risk and inform your decision making, you will be conducting financial and industry sector analyses and pro-actively be seeking out and collecting relevant information in direct contact with key stakeholders also at management level from a broad range of Danish companies. By building and maintaining a network of stakeholders within the construction sector, you will have direct access to information about what goes on.
You understand financial risk and have an investigative mind
You may hold a degree in finance, economics, insurance or another relevant field. More importantly, you understand financial and credit risk and enjoy monitoring a given sector or industry and detect factors, incidents and developments that might influence or cause changes to different companies’ risk exposure. It will be ad advantage if you are familiar with the construction sector. You possess great analytical and communication skills and can deliver difficult messages while maintaining strong relations.
It is key that you feel comfortable making decisions in dynamic situations often entailing an element of uncertainty and that you can work efficiently under pressure prioritising your workload and are able to process and manage large amounts of information. You have a curious mind and have a good understanding of the Danish, Nordic and international economy and the ability to interpret trends. You understand the credit and financial risk originating from a customer’s business model and you have a good understanding of Credit Insurance or possess the readiness to quickly acquire it. You are fluent in both written and spoken English and Danish.
