As Business Manager, DesignMaster you will be in charge of and further develop and strengthen a strong brand within the European textile and furniture industry. You will be head of DesignMaster and a member of the management team at Gabriel A/S, and you will report directly to the CEO of Gabriel A/S.
The Business Manager, DesignMaster is overall responsible for managing the European portfolio of product development projects carried out in collaboration with global key customers and internal business units. You will ensure that DesignMaster delivers innovative products, and that the process is well managed and documented. A core task is to ensure that DesignMaster acts as an advisor in delivering niche knowledge within innovative design and development of upholstery fabrics and related materials, upholstery solutions, and furniture. Together with the Creative Director you will set the direction of the design strategy for Gabriel on the European market.
You will lead and develop the team of 10 employees in DesignMaster, who will be reporting to you.
The position will be based in Gabriel’s headquarters in Aalborg, Denmark, and you will have approx. 40 travelling days per year.
Business and product development oriented manager
You are able to lead a product development process with innovative products through great management of people and processes. You are proactive, analytical, persistent and able to transform strategy into action. As an innovative and business oriented manager you motivate others to think creatively and at the same time ensure value adding to the business. You have strong coaching skills, and you are able to build trusting relationships. You are excellent at stakeholder management and know how to cooperate with customers and managers at all levels.
You have a relevant educational background e.g. in product or industrial design or product development and innovation. You need to have strong experience with managing product development projects in an international company. Market knowledge of textile, furniture, fashion or related industries is an advantage but not a requirement. You might have experience as a manager, but this could also be your first formal manager position.
You are a strong communicator and you are fluent in spoken and written English.
