Developing a Comprehensive Program

IT’S ALWAYS GREAT HELPING AN ORGANISATION DIG DOWN DEEP INTO WHAT THEY DO AND PERFORM SOME SELF-ANALYSIS ON WHAT’S WORKING AND WHAT’S NOT? THAT’S SUCH A REWARDING THING.
THIS HAPPENED RECENTLY WITH A COMPANY BASED IN GREENLAND. THE CLIENT CAME TO US AND ASKED US TO MAKE A LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR ALL ITS LEADERS. WE TOOK ON TRAINING AND COACHING ALL THE LEADERS IN THE COMPANY, TO ENABLE THEM TO GROW AND LEAD THE COMPANY TOGETHER AND TO DEVELOP THEIR LEADERSHIP APPROACH, BEHAVIOUR AND COLLABORATION
TO DEVELOP THE PROGRAM, WE SPOKE TO DIFFERENT PEOPLE THROUGHOUT THE COMPANY, LOOKING TO DRILL DOWN DEEP AND UNDERSTAND THE NEED FOR THE ORGANISATION. THAT MEANT CONVERSATIONS AND ANALYSIS WITH FIGURES FROM EVERY LEVEL OF THE ORGANISATION LOOKING FOR IMPORTANT INSIGHT. IT WAS CRITICAL FOR US TO UNDERSTAND.
AFTER THAT, WE GOT TO WORK WITH THE FULL LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM. WE DID THE WORK BY ARRANGING A LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME OVER AN ENTIRE YEAR. THAT MEANT ALTERNATING DOING WORKSHOPS AND DOING INDIVIDUAL COACHING FOR EVERY LEADER. IT MEANT WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE 60 TOP LEADERS THROUGHOUT THE COMPANY AND THEN DOING A SERIES OF THREE INTENSE DAYS OF WORKSHOPS WITH THEM.
WHEN THE NEXT WORKSHOP TOOK PLACE THREE MONTHS LATER, WE STILL DID INDIVIDUAL COACHING SESSIONS WITH EACH ONE OF THE PEOPLE IDENTIFIED. THE WORKSHOPS ADDRESSED THE NEEDS OF THE CLIENT THAT WE HAD DISCOVERED IN THE INTAKE ANALYSIS.
WE HAD TAILORED A COMBINATION OF LITTLE LECTURES AND AN ACTION LEARNING APPROACH, WHERE THE PARTICIPANTS WORKED THROUGH ALL THE IMPORTANT SUBJECTS IN A WORKSHOP FORMAT. WE ALSO WORKED CONSCIOUSLY WITH THE DIFFERENT LEADERSHIP LEVELS IN THE COMPANY AND HAD DESIGNED A STRUCTURE THAT TOOK THAT INTO CONSIDERATION AND TURNED IT INTO AN ADVANTAGE AND A POSSIBILITY TO CONNECT THE DIFFERENT LAYERS.
