Stig B. Karlsen is based in Copenhagen and is a member of the Mercuri Urval Strategic Account team where he focuses on international companies. Typical companies include Vestas, Bavarian Nordic and DONG Energy. Stig focuses on assessment of executives mostly in the C-suite, Outplacement and Coaching.
Prior to joining Mercuri Urval, Stig served as President of Carat North America, based in Connecticut. Stig had served as COO of the Nordic entity for Carat/Aegis and built that up until 1995 when he took over the responsibility to build the Carat activities in North America through an acquisition strategy. In this role, he was responsible for eight acquisitions and for forming the continental organisation. In Denmark, Stig became CEO of the largest department store group, Magasin, in 1978 which he turned around before leaving in 1987.
Stig has served on numerous boards, both stock-listed and private companies, over the years and after returning to Denmark has developed the Danish Business Angel Network, serving as a Business Angel with a number of acquisitions and exits. Has also served as chairman of cultural boards and is currently chairman of four private companies.
Stig earned his Master's in Economic Science at the Aarhus School of Business.
