Rick Allen


Rick is a skilled organizational development consultant, facilitator, and executive and team coach with over three decades of experience across a wide range of organizational sectors and international cultures. He partners with individuals and teams of senior and front line leaders to support them in achieving critical objectives, working together more effectively across functions, and creating great places to work.

Rick is approachable, direct, and down to earth. He has expertise in a range of organizational development and learning strategies, executive and team assessment and coaching, group facilitation, collaborative team skills, culture change, innovation, emotional intelligence, communication, adaptability, and the design and facilitation of high impact learning and planning events that leverage group dialogue and experiential learning.

Rick’s clients include Senior VP, Director and GM level leaders, as well as middle managers and new hires from manufacturing, pharmaceutical, consumer goods, financial services, insurance, entertainment, IT, governmental, nongovernmental and military organizations located in North and South America, Europe, South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East. 

Rick holds a Master of Science Degree in Organizational Development from American University/NTL Institute, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from George Mason University. He works regularly with Mercuri Urval assessing executive potential and is also certified to teach and administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, the EQ-i Emotional Intelligence Assessments, the Hogan Assessments, and is skilled in the use of various 360 degree feedback tools.

His early work life included service as the Operations Administrator of a United Nations funded relief program in the Sudan providing medical care to refugees fleeing famine and war, work with Outward Bound leading teams of senior executives on development focused wilderness and ocean expeditions, and early research and published writing on global warming and other environmental issues. 

Rick has lived overseas for extended periods in both India and Africa, and is comfortable working across diverse global cultures.  He currently lives with his two teenage daughters outside of Boston, Massachusetts.
