Hilde Vanderschelden

Group Director | MU Belgium

Over the course of my MU career, I have witnessed extraordinary transformation: waves of technological change, new ways of working, evolving expectations from clients, sustainability given a different meaning. I have learned, adapted, sometimes unlearned and I am still learning. And I love it.

The Power of Human Connections

What I feel most grateful for is not only the evolution, but the continuity behind it. The people, the conversations, the trust placed in me. The opportunity to walk alongside great leaders and teams as they navigated growth, uncertainty, and change. Many professional relationships grew into long-standing partnerships. Some even became lasting friendships that extend far beyond any role or organisation. It is these human connections, with clients, colleagues, and partners that have given my work its deepest meaning. Behind every strategy, every appointment, every transformation, there are people with hopes, doubts, ambitions, humour and responsibilities. Being invited into that space of trust has always felt like a privilege.

Looking to the Future with Curiosity

Looking ahead, I feel the same curiosity I had 30 years ago. The tools are different, the pace is faster, the challenges are more complex. Yet the purpose remains clear: to create value that truly matters, to connect the right people at the right time, and to support decisions that make a positive, lasting difference for organisations, for leaders, and for the people they serve. Some things remain timeless: trust as the foundation, listening as the starting point, sound judgment as the compass, and strong relationships as the force that turns intentions into impact. That human dimension is — and will always be — at the heart of my work.
