    Your main tasks & responsibilities:

  • Lead the country organization in Japan and take over P&L responsibility for the overall business in Asia
  • Coordinate several factories and R&D centers in Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia and India
  • Lead, motivate and develop all departments/functions located in Asia including Sales, R&D, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, SCM, Finance and Controlling
  • Ensure the successful launch for new products
  • Take over responsibility for the acquisition of new OEM customers and Tier1 suppliers in order to increase turnover, profitability and market share in Asia
  • Serve as key contact for top customer accounts; Develop and implement a sustainable client network for the company
  • Generate business strategies for addressing future market scenarios in Asia, constructively challenging the conventional wisdom
  • Prepare and control budgets/forecasting to ensure the effective implementation of the business strategy; Monitor revenues and costs against plan/forecast to identify problem areas and adapt procedures to improve the overall performance of the company
  • Drive product innovation for the business, in alignment with the market needs and business development goals
  • Act as an active and integral member and contributor to the global Executive Board
  • Be located in Yokohama (Kanagawa) and travel regularly across Asia
  •  


    Your skills and experience:

  • Educated to degree level in Engineering, preferably accompanied by an MBA
  • Minimum 10 years of experience living and working in Japan, with a deep understanding for the countries culture and language
  • Strong track record as regional CEO/COO or a similar role with responsibility fornR&D and manufacturing sites across Asia, preferably within a global automotive company
  • Understanding of the Japanese automotive market and network to OEM customers in Asia
  • Perfect fluency in Japanese and English is absolutely necessary
  • Background in developing sales in Asia and in managing large engineering and manufacturing teams in a complex global matrix organization
  • Strategic mind-set who identifies business opportunities and envisions the long-term market potential
  • Excellent leadership skills; Ability to build best-in-class teams and a culture of trust collaboration and performance orientation
