This role focuses on technically supporting the Sales team in gaining OEM & dealer adoption and assisting with After-Sales. In this role, you can contribute to the growth and the future of an innovative provider of clean water solutions.

Main responsibilities and tasks

  • Partner with the EMEA Sales team to aggressively seek and convert new opportunities for Hypro Precision Agriculture products and Shurflo branded products (Precision Agriculture products include technology spray nozzles, electric valves, smart pump solutions, as well as future product additions)
  • Support EMEA territory Sales representatives in the field with joint visits to help customers with product selection and integration into various types of application equipment
  • Work with customer engineering and R&D groups to overcome challenges, identify product improvement requirements and provide a configured solution within but not necessarily confined to the assigned product portfolio
  • Provide technical expertise: This position will be regarded as the technical expert for the assigned product portfolio within the Precision Agriculture and Industrial Flow technology Markets. Responsibilities include servicing customers, attending trade shows and participating in seminars and other events to share, gain and improve industry specific knowledge. The holder of this position will also be an active member at least one industry professional organisation.
  • Business Performance: The future Sales Application Engineer will develop and execute strategies with the local sales leader to develop sales of focus, assigned products through the existing and new sales channels and provide technical support to the sales team
  • Supporting the sales team:    
    • Join territory sales reps on sales calls and visits with existing and prospective customers to grow sales revenue promote products and ensure customer service
    • Develop clear and effective written proposals, specifications, and quotations for current and prospective customers
    • Coordinate Sales and Service effort with Marketing, Sales Management, Logistics and Technical Service groups
    • Provide Sales forecasts for the assigned product line to product managers and Sourcing & Procurement team through SIOP (sales inventory and operations planning) process
    • Development and provision of customer & internal training programmes
    • Identify potential accounts for future territory expansion
    • Maintain positive relationships with key contacts at strategic customers
    • Report regularly to the local leader and global Sales teams, sharing experience and information (Salesforce.com monthly reports, meetings and / or conference calls)
    • Provide regular market feedback to Vertical Market Leader and global Sales teams (competitor organisation, products, sales, pricing, regulations and major events in the market)
    • Participate in trade shows and conventions
  • New Product Development: The future Sales Application Engineer will gather VOC (voice of customer) and communicate to the internal organisation
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in all functions and locations in order to ensure the overall objectives of the company are met
  • Maintain and develop relevant professional, technical and commercial knowledge in order to be able to competently sell solutions to solve customers’ problems
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as and when required for the specialty division Flow Technologies

Your skills

  • Completed B.Sc. in Mechanical / Agricultural or Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical experience Experience in selling fluid handling products (including pumps) and / or agricultural machinery
  • In-depth experience in fluid handling applications and in agro-chemical spraying applications
  • Project management experience Experience in established market business development and feeling comfortable in facing clients of multicultural background (with a strong focus on Northern Europe and France)
  • Experience in projects introducing new products Basic understanding of business finance
  • Proficiency in English and French (presenter level), German language skills are an asset Proficient skills with
  • MS-Office-Package (Word, Excel, PP etc.)
  • Proficient skills with CRM such as Salesforce.com
  • Familiarity with the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, e.g. SAP, MFG/PRO, for selling purposes
  • Familiarity with 3D-solid modelling software (SolidWorks) Ability to travel approximately 50% of total working time (nationally & internationally)
  • Valid driver’s license
