Stephen focuses on supporting national and international clients in particular with Executive Assessment, Sales Transformation and Executive Search. He has also worked with the development of business leaders, leadership teams and Boards in a variety of situations.
Stephen’s work has spanned a variety of sectors including Financial Services, ICT & Technology and Medical / Pharma. A common theme throughout these projects has been the need to improve results through managing internal and external clients better and creating a greater focus on the future, as well as on operational performance. Over the 20 years that Stephen has been involved in Executive Assessment, Development and Search, he has assessed the capabilities and potential of over 1,000 managers, led the search and selection for over 400 key roles, coached over 50 executives and around 30 management teams.
Recent Sales Transformation projects include a Sales Capability Review of circa 650 sales managers, account executives and solutions architects at global ICT client. Stephen helped them to help them make the transition from product sales to selling integrated solutions, thereby increasing sales of managed services 19% in 2 years.
Large scale Executive Assessment projects include partnering with clients in the financial services sector to assess all key hires and recommend those with the potential to meet future requirement of the role as well as fit with culture. In addition to his responsibilities for creating client value, Stephen is General Manager of Mercuri Urval UK and a Director of of Mercuri Urval Australia.
Stephen grew up and was educated in a variety of African and European countries and after graduating he served as an Officer in the British Army with the Royal Engineers as part of 5 Airborne Brigade. He joining TNT Express, the global logistics business in 1987 and Mercuri Urval in 1990. He is married with two children, keeps bees and enjoys the arts and mountain walking, running, skiing and a social game of tennis. He completed the London Marathon ( ‘at a steady pace’ ) in 2009 and the ‘8 in 48hrs’ 3,000 ft Lakeland challenge in 2011.
