US Subsidiary of Multinational Industries Biotechnology Firm

This is a rare opportunity to lead a dynamic sales organization for a privately held and rapidly growing global leader in IVD (in vitro diagnostic) market.

In this position, you will report directly to the Global Business Director and play a key part in creating and implementing the growth strategy in the US market. While the company already has a presence in the US market, the Director of Sales will establish the US HQ office and hire a direct salesforce. You will implement national sales strategy, determine sales targets and compensation levels, drive strategic territory management, and build learning communities and culture within the team.  Additionally you will play a key role in managing existing customers while also prospecting for new business as well. 

 

You are an ambitious, self-driven, experienced sales manager/leader, with a distinguished track record in the biotech industry.   You connect easily at all levels internally and are a strong communicator, pro-active and eager to contribute to the success of the team.  Results-oriented, with a strong service orientation and adaptable.  50% travel should be anticipated.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develops annual sales strategy and business plan and leads overall execution for the US Market

  • Reviews territory plans, prospecting criteria, business model, compensation plans, organizational structure and resources, offers recommendations on prioritization, gaps and critical needs

  • Leads, mentors and develops sales team consistent with company principles

  • Actively manages his/her own client platform while prospecting for new business (player/coach)

  • Develops and provides executive sponsorship for key client relationships

  • Maintains reporting requirements and conducts periodic business reviews

  • Works with management to set and achieve annual revenue goals

  • Builds strong relationships with team establish trust and respect

  • Manages, monitors and compiles budgets

  • Capture customer insight and share feedback for new innovation opportunities

  • Continuously grows in biotechnology and commercial knowledge; builds learning communities and culture across sales organization and in industry

  • Establishes US headquarter office and back office support functions

 

Requirements:

 

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • 5+ years leading/managing sales teams

  • 8+ years working biotechnology sector

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

 

Preferred but not required qualifications:

  • MBA or graduate degree

  • Experience working in an international environment

  • Experience establishing a European multinational in the US
