Senior Wind Technician Position

This highly visible Senior Wind Technician position will be a part of the Technical Operations and Support Department and opens up opportunities to transition into a corporate career. You will be responsible for dictating to technical writers to create and develop documentation for new WTG platforms for a global service organization. You must be a highly motivated self-starter who is also a team-player capable of building relationships at all organizational levels.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Steering, controlling, and regulating turbines, with the any of the following technologies:

    GE 1.5, GE 1.6, GE 2.2, GE 2.4, GE 2.5, GE ESS


  • Reviewing work instructions and performing project site observations with minimum assistance

  • Creating documentation for the electrical and/or mechanical infrastructure and components of wind turbines

  • Applying bug/fault treatment, especially on mechanical and/or electrical hardware and infrastructure

  • Supporting the technical writers and the technical sourcing team

  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications

  • Creating and/or recommending spare parts list

Qualifications/Core competencies are as follows:

  • Minimum 3 years experience working on mechanical or electrical components of wind turbines

  • Knowledge of the electrical and/or mechanical components of the aforementioned turbines

  • Ability to apply special knowledge to other electrical and/or mechanical turbine components

  • Training on the mechanical and/or electrical components of the aforementioned (GE) turbines (i.e. supplier or in-house training)

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Ability to establish relationships and make decisions cross-functionally within matrix organizations

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Job will consist of 50% travel / 50% work from home
