A rare opportunity to lead a dynamic sales organization for a privately held and rapidly growing global leader in high-tech medical devices for the orthopedic manufacturing and distribution market.

In this position, you will report directly to the U.S. President & General Manager, with a dotted line to the Global Head of Sales.  The Vice President of Sales, North America will collaborate with senior management and the field sales management and representatives to enhance and implement national sales strategy, determine sales targets and compensation levels, drive strategic territory management, and build learning communities and culture within teams and key customer base.


The Vice President of Sales will support the rapid growth anticipated over the next 4 years, by growing a capable team of sales managers and representatives, leveraging new innovations and setting the strategic tone for the organization.


You are an ambitious, self-driven, experienced sales manager, with a distinguished track record in the medical device industry.  You connect easily at all levels internally and are a strong communicator, pro-active and eager to contribute to the success of the team.  Results-oriented, with a strong service orientation and adaptable.  Significant travel will be required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Builds strong relationships with team establish trust and respect

  • Develops annual sales strategy and business plan and leads overall execution for the US Market

  • Reviews current territory plans, prospecting criteria, business model, compensation plans, organizational structure and resources, offers recommendations on prioritization, gaps and critical needs

  • Leads, mentors and develops sales team consistent with company principles

  • Develops and provides executive sponsorship for key client relationships

  • Maintains reporting requirements and conducts periodic business reviews

  • Works with management to set and achieve annual revenue goals

  • Manages, monitors and complies budgets

  • Works with the sales team to capture customer insight and share feedback for new product innovation opportunities

  • Assesses and determines pricing options in the market to remain competitive and maintain profit margin

  • Continuously grows in medical and commercial knowledge; builds learning communities and culture across sales organization and in industry






Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • 5+ years managing sales teams

  • 8+ years working medical device sector (surgical implants, orthopedics, upper/lower extremity or spine or trauma)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience with SAP and ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets to manage sales data



Preferred but not required qualifications:

  • MBA or graduate degree

  • German language skills

  • Experience working in an international environment
